I really love these pieces AND the great thing is so do you!
So here are the details
Individually made by hand in Ireland, I roll a large slab of clay and impress BOTH sides with heavily embossed wallpaper. The clay is then draped over a wooden former, and the edges trimmed. The piece is allowed to dry slowly, and once bone dry it is fired in the kiln. After its first firing, it is washed with colour, and a clear food-safe glaze is applied and fired once more.
The pieces are food safe, and I encourage you to use your pieces. Although they do look pretty just sitting. I use these platters for serving up sandwiches, canapes, and nibbles, and I love using them when we BBQ {Please let us have some Irish Sunshine soon}
Pair these platters with some tasty cheese and chutney, and you have a fab Man’s Gift; we all know how hard to get that one right is!
Of course, they come in 3 colour and pattern combos; variety is the spice of life. You can buy here on the website or check my list of stockists for one near you, AND of course, you come to see me in Bridge Street Studios; I’d love to show you around.
What would you serve up on these classic pieces?
