As the clocks change and the evenings get even darker, I look for healthy comfort food to see me through the winter.
This bread recipe is so easy and comforting and has no wheat for people like me who are intolerant
Simple Oat Bread
- 500g tub of natural yoghurt (can be fat-free, low fat, full fat etc)
- 1 egg
- Porridge Oats (1 empty 500g yoghurt tub full approx 400g)
- 1 teaspoon of Bread Soda
- 1 teaspoon of Salt
Preheat oven to 180’c and grease a 2lb loaf tin
Put all the ingredients into a large bowl and mix to form a dough
Place into the prepared loaf tin and put into the centre of the oven and bake for 40 – 45 mins.
Let it rest in the tin for 5 minutes to cool, before turning out.
At this point, I usually lose all patience and take out the butter and the jam!
